One of our local head inspectors said to let them know when we figured it out . . .

I did see a picture someone posted of a modification to a hot tub shell with a metal plate on the inside, and a place for a lug outside.

Otherwise, you could hire a plumber to install some copper pipe to put a bonding clamp on.

here is a bonding plate, the guy says its listed

i've used that very product w/ no problems from the inspectors.

if you're using a wet-niche lighting fixture w/ a metal trim ring, it could very well meet the requirement if there are at least 9 sq. in. of metal.

but most of these fiberglass pools use very small diameter fiber-optic and LED lighting to limit the surface area for potential leaks.

Its a stainless steel plate, The plate sits inside the filter, with a threaded stud to the lug outside the filter so no need for any chemical protection of the bond.

Sorry to hear that. Even the better grades of SS don't do well w/ CL2 but if it's UL listed you're covered.

Good luck, Maurice

thats the craziest thing i ever heard of. no metal parts, no ladder hoops, no handrail, no light. then there is nothing to bond. most likely 110 pump put it on gfci if it makes you feel good. with a 3 prong cord ;)

pool water bonding

just had our code update class here in mass and the inspector requires the use of this ul listed 9sqin ss part if nothing else to bond to exists. easy and works nice i hear. i'm doing an above ground next week so- my guess is you bond the min 4 points to the #8 ground loop, lugged, the ss skimmer/filter part, motor, to a ground rod? does that sound like a ground path for an above ground pool? my first one.
