I have it locked in my head that a hot tub installed indoors need not worry about complying with 680.26. I am at the underground stage of an indoor hot tub installation, and decided to take a closer look at Article 680, Part III to be sure that I wasn't missing anything, and now I am confused.
According to what I remember, 680.26 is required in outdoor hot tub installations, but not indoors. However, looking at 680.42 and .43 I'm not seeing the difference.
Looking back to the ROP leading to the 2005 NEC, the CMP appears to believe the words say the same thing I thought, but I don't see how the words support that conclusion. As I sit here and read the 2008 NEC now, it appears that an equipotential bonding grid and bonding the pool water would be required in an indoor pool. Is that incorrect, and why?
