Im just curious for other areas, the NEC 2008 708 Cops article, is it being enforced in your area, or will it be?? Ive heard alot of comments about the article, some even called it a 'WASTE OF INK' what do you think??

I am not aware of any building codes that require compliance with this article. This is an article that is triggered by codes other than the NEC, much like Article 700. These articles have no application unless triggered by other codes. The new COPS article is too new to be referenced by other codes. At this time I would expect that the only use of this article would be when the design specs required compliance with it.

I see installations being installed to this level, here and in NYC, but I do not believe it is being mandated...voluntary installations so far.

It's not being enforced in NY state. But IMHO, it is anything but a waste of ink....it's highly indicative of the direction the industry is going. Might be a good place for some stocks. :-?:smile:
