my company is sending a training person to our site to train our people to be qualified worker.
none have any electrical training but at times do electric work like replacing ballast, one case,he turned on the power and herd a loud bump but the light worked and he was happy, does not know how to match bulb and ballast. Does 70 e train to besafe or is it training to do electric work like wiring equipment and such?
They are calling it 70e training but there will not be any labeling or mcc work at all. A little confused on that one. Thanks for any replys.

Never heard of 70 e trainning.
Most states require a licensed to do electrical work, even for small jobs.
You will need to work as an apprenice for about 5 years. Then you can apply to take the test to become an electrician.

Be wary here, a company that says they are going to train your people to be a "qualified worker" dosent understand the 70E requirements. I suggest you read the 1st FAQ here http://forums.mikeholt.com/showthread.php?t=99114

Note that it requires the person to be knowlegable of the construction and operation of the equipment. Now nothing in that definition says you need to be an electrician, and for simple things like changing balasts, operating equipment, etc, you don't need to be, but real "electrical work" may require the person to be a licenced sparky, depending on your circumstances.

Also note that the training company can not deem anyone a "qualified person", only the employer can do that.
