722.179(A)(6) wet locations and PLTC cable

The inspector is saying the (300V) PLTC cable routed in underground conduit (location has a roof covering) MUST be rated for wet locations and stated so on the jacket per 722.
This cable is not; it is sunlight and oil resistant ONLY.
The cable has already been installed and terminated. He wants it removed due to possible jacket deterioration over time.
(We’re talking about 3500 feet of cable). My experience is oil resistant PLTC routed in PVC conduit will last for decades since it’s not really immersed in water, it’s just subject to condensate due to temperature changes. Opinions?
