I've been asked by one of our salesmen if our cable meets the requirements of Article 725-11(b). I told him that there was no such thing in the newest code cycle but that in 2005 that section only said the cable should be protected if necessary. He sent me the actual document he was looking at, and it says:
"The cables shall be approved for installation in cable trays in accordance with Article 340 of the NEC and also for use in Class 1 remote control and signalling circuits per Article 725-11(b) of the Code."
Now, in my book Article 340 is UF cable and 725.11(b) doesn't make sense as a specification, even if I use the code version that section was in. What am I missing here?
The document is dated in April of this year, but I wonder if they are referencing an older code book.
