Good morning all,
We are relocating two 75kva spotwelders to another department with in our facility we will be taking them off one buss and putting them on another rather than doing some copycat work here could you make some suggestions of what to watch for and thing to consider when sizing the circuit. I have just began researching this topic and have no one to mentor or ask question to so I thought I would start here. I seem to recall some information from school about things to do with these types of equipment such as isolation transformers etc.. I also remember hearing about the effects they can impose on the line if not set up correctly. Currently they way they are set up you can here these things fire through the breakers and bus work. Any direction you can provide is appreciated and respected. I list some information below:

main supply 480V WYE (grounded)
75 KVA spotwelders
480V single phase.

thank you for your time

I am not surprised that a 156A single phase load would make some noise when it comes on. You can often hear wire noises when large motors come on. It's just wires moving around inside the raceways. A current of that size does generate a substantial magnetic field.
