If I am feeding a sub panel from breaker in main panel with #4's can I use #8 ground? In the main panel I have a 3P 70A breaker in the main panel feeding the MLO sub panel.
Your right. I know. EGC it is.as many years as you have been posting here, I can't believe you used the word "ground".....
"ground" is earth ie: dirt.
equipment grounding conductor ?? grounded conductor (neutral) ??
THank you. So how do you come up with that? Which NEC section?A #8 would be the normal size EGC for a 70 amp circuit.
Geez. I need to SLOW down and take things in...lol.Wrong Table... 250.66 is for grounding electrodes... 250.122 is for EGC.
Yes slow down! Once you have the correct terminology for the conductor, in this case an EGC, then it's easy to find the correct table.Geez. I need to SLOW down and take things in...lol.
Than you Augie.
You mean an 8 AWG?A #8 would be the normal size EGC for a 70 amp circuit.
Correct CU.CU or AL on the EGC?
Pretty sure we're all assuming CU.
Yes.You mean an 8 AWG?
I still use MCM.,,
It's not. That just where they put the table in the code book. If you look at section 250.122 it will reference the table so the location of the table within the book might not even be on the same page. Why is it under feeder taps
