Building an 3 phase 4 wire 208/120v 800a overhead service. Per plans is exactly what I’m doing. Next to the 800a disconnect is a 400a meter enclosure and next to that is a 400a disconnect that will feed a 2 section 400a panel inside. From the 800a disconnect to the meter I’m running parallel 250AL. As well to the 400a disco from the meter. So now my question. I know the 400a needs a EGC from the 800a service disconnect so
Am I allowed to use the meter can as a “pass through” for the grounds to travel from 800a to 400a? As the meter can does not need an EGC. I will put a bonding locknut from the nipple between 800a and meter to bond the meter can. And also my power company requires the meter can to have a GEC ran to it as well not just at the 800a service disconnect. So I will bond that to the neutral inside the meter can. Thanks !
