Can you use XHHW-2 90 degree ampacity numbers for a service even though the terminations at the transformer are only rated 75 degrees. In this case 4 parallel 600 alum. for a 1600 amp service.
The only way to use the full 90°C ampacity is to transition in another enclosure (or cable tray). See page 4 of the following document. Don't forget, terminal temperature limitations apply on both ends of the conductor.
