A/C Circuit Sizing Question

This question has to do with sizing conductors and Over Current Protection (OCP) for A/C units.

I understand that we size our conductors and OCP according to the Min Circuit Amps (MCA) and Max Overcurrent Protection (MOP) found on the A/C nameplate. My question is, does that only apply to sizing the fuses for the disconnect and the conductors from the disconnect to the A/C unit? The OCP in the panel and the conductors from the panel to disconnect are feeders and not branch circuits. Do we still size those according to the MCA and MOP on the A/C nameplate or do we size them as we would a typical feeder circuit?

Thanks in advance!

I have seen is addressed differently but, IMO, you need to refer back to Art 430 (rather than 440) on feeders and Art 430 allows the feeder taps to be sized no larger than the branch circuit and protected accordingly.
IF your feeder protection exceeds the unit MOCP then you would need to size the feeder based on that higher rating
