If the mca on a A/C condensor is 25.4 amps can you round down to 25amps and use a #12 cu
or must you round up to 26 amps and be required to use a #10cu

Or not round anything and still be required to use #10cu

I don't see anything in 440.31 - 440.35 that says anything about rounding down, all the sections appear to state "not less than" (2005)

#12 is good for 30 amps in this case 240.4(g) unless you are using nm cable.

Oh and was that before of after some percentages

The nameplate has 125% in it already

#12 is only good for 25 amps even if you're using NM cable. You can't use the 30 amp rating since it's at 90 degrees C.

I stand corrected, of course you are right. Lord knows what I was thinking- going from memory- bad idea in my case. :D
