on another thread, i had posted about referrals, and 95% of the
income coming from 5% of the people..... and you couldn't tell
who the people were.... or where they would lead to.... and you
had to treat everyone with dignity, no matter how desperately they
didn't deserve it.... :D

2 years ago, i had a ad posted on craigslist, and before i got disgusted
and took it down, one of the people who called was this lady......

who needed about $100 worth of work, and when i went over to talk
to her, she was gonna have to wait a month, to save up the money....
it's been two years, and she hasn't called back yet.......

but she had just had her pool replastered, and it was an exceptionally
good job, and i got the name of the pool plasterer.... and he came over
to give me a bid for my pool..... and found out i was an electrician, and
could do cadweld.......

and i ended up doing pool bonding on a commercial job he had going.....
and ended up making the inspector happy, and it was the chief inspector
of the city.....

who suggested to the general that i be contacted regarding another
bonding issue with the fountains on the project......

who connected me with a commercial fountain contractor.... who i did
bonding for, and saved him about $25k in the city's interperitation of
how bonding was supposed to occur in decorative fountains.....

who, two days ago, two years after i completed the work for him, sang
my praises high and low in a meeting with upper management for the
irvine company, leading to a pipeline into that corporation.....

now, that LEED certification i'd been thinking about getting is suddenly
a big deal.... i got a test date next month with prometric, and away we go...

i've got a cram course in becoming a LEED AP with just a few weeks to
accomplish it..... i won't be posting here much for a while.... i'll write when
i find honest work.....

so a little lady in a house in garden grove leading to one of the largest.....?

you don't need to know where it's gonna come from. you just need to know
that it will.

pretty much.

if you are a LEED AP, your involvement on a project is worth 1 point towards
certification of that project. LEED certification of a building increases it's
value.

as it was put to me, people in suits with money like that.
any questons?

it amounts to the ISO 9000 of tree hugging.... and it's becoming a large
influence on how money is spent around here.

call if ya wanna....

Yes Agreat American success story!

I did a service call for a grumpy old man. I smiled. He grumped. He was well connected--State Assemblman, etc.
he mentioned to his friend to call me to do some work. riend is a retired doctor with money to burn. Have wired 3 full size additions, plus numerous other projects for him, including some non-electrical types.

Yes--Be nice, smile alot. Be polite, Be better than the next guy at what you do. The work will come.
