I Recently went on a service call to a retirement center. They called because the four pin lamps were catching fire or melting and dripping from the recessed cans. None of these ballasts or lamps had End of Life protection. This was causing the ballast to try to fire a lamp that was burned out. It took me a while to figure out why this was happening and I finally realized that this was the cause of it. I never really put much stock into end of life protection, but after witnessing that, I've come to the conclusion that it plays a vital role in safety. Just some food for thought. Have a great day!
