i am in the north centarl nj area. i am looking to start anew with a new career as an electrician, i am looking for trade schools or formal basic training to begin, any suggestions?

Start looking for a job in the trade, just get your foot in the door and work hard and pay attention. Given your area you could check local Vocational schools and unions for schooling. Check into pennco tech and lincoln tech I think they have electrical classes as well.
