Abandoned wiring (Low and Line Voltage)

Hey does anyone know if in the NEC, it states you have to remove abandoned wiring?

The 2002 NEC made it clear that low voltage cables not being used, or tagged future, must be removed.Articles 640, 645, 725, 760, 770, 800, and 830, all have similar requirements for removing unused low voltage cable. I am not sure of such a specific reference for line voltage conductors.
