Installing a ABB 355 VFD tomorrow. Do i need to fill out all the parameters on drive? starting at 9901? I have only done a hand full of these and havent done one in a while. The Hz in upper right is always highlighted but noticed the HZ on this drive wasnt hightlighted. I was wondering if I am missing something when I power up. Any advise on start up would will be appreciated. The customer wants to control the speed at drive so no I/Os. I just need to be able to show them how to control speed.

The thing about ABB DOCs is they are very poorly written and very abstract.
Yes there is usually some quick set up instructions, but the manual is like an encyclopedia and even ABB Tech support has a hard time with the labyrinth that these things are. Some configuration scenarios that would seem workable in the field, are in fact not supported by the drive because they were never considered by the design Engineers. Speaking with ABB on the last one that went this way was interesting.
The newer drives have something called " Guided Startup " which can be run if you have the correct control panel installed.
I have found that the manual has to be gone through several times and there will be things that are correlational in very different parts of the book.

I skimmed the manual last night and this morning. I agree, it does seem to jump around. Lots of good info though.
