I have a newly installed (October 2013) 650hp ACS800 Regen drive running a new 600hp Baldor motor on a veneer lathe. All incoming power leads are new, all motor leads are new. I have recently (x 1 week) been getting unbalanced current fault 2330 and short circuit fault 2340. The faults have been happening very sporadically and are easily resettable. I have megged the motor and T-leads. Both meg fine at 1000v. I have contacted the tech support that built the drive cabinet and they are pointing towards the wire to the motor. The OEM that helped with the installation has had us lower decel settings in the drive and this appears to have lessened the amount of trips, but they are still coming. Sometimes minutes apart and sometimes hours. Our operation is located at the end of the utilities power transmission. Could I be seeing problems with the drive due to power fluctuations? It has also been extremely cold the past few days, down to -8 F. Could the cold have anything to do with it? Any ideas would be helpful?
