I purchased a milk crate of 15 to 30 amp receptacles from a retiring electrical contractor 40 years ago. One duplex odd boy receptacle had a 120 volt 15 amp receptacles port and the other a 240 volt port. I asked young coworkers how would they supply a 120 & a 240 volt circuits on a same yoke device. Some said by a one pole & a two pole breaker, another said a three fuse safety switch. Asked them why not a three pole circuit breaker. Know a 250 volt three pole circuit breaker fit into a lot of residential single phase panels but not listed for that. I would never install such a device.Appears to although why you would have a three pole breaker on a 120/240 circuit escapes me.
Yep. Should have said “240/120” on a separate 3 pole row to indicate a 3 phase 4 wire delta system… The were just being lazy, or someone who made that chart was ignorant of the proper naming conventions.Appears to although why you would have a three pole breaker on a 120/240 circuit escapes me.
