Go for the unlimited it is not that much different than the intermediate or for that matter the unlimited-- at least it wasn't 25 years ago in NC

One more thing to think about is that the unlimited takes a higher bond to become licensed. If you are not going after big jobs the limited or intermediate might be the way to go.

Dennis might have a point though, the intermediate may not be that much different in difficulty.
