I read to code section and I'm confused. Do we need to bond an above ground pool? Grounding grid?

If the pool is 42" in depth than yes. The pool would then need to follow all the rules of an in ground pool

While extensive bonding is required for pools possibility including a bonding grid, a grounding grid is never required. We are not trying to provide a connection to earth, we are trying to bond everything together so there is no voltage difference between any points.
