I went to look at a above ground pool the other day, and noticed the pump came with a regular cord on it. This doesnt seem right. I wonder if you can take the cord off and wire it direct, or get the 3 foot twist cord?

Anybody have any input?

Re: Above ground pool pumps

From what I've been taught, the cord is for 'testing purposes'.
It does not meet the twist-lock requirement, and a twist-lock must be installed.

I have heard/read the same thing.
Just one thing though. If the circulator pump for the pool is more than 10 feet from the pool, a twistlock attachment plug is not required.
