HOW FAR FROM THE INSIDE OF THE POOL(ABOVE GROUND- 52") CAN A POOL MOTOR BE LOCATED? I KNOW THE RECEPTACLE IS PERMITTED TO BE LOCATED FIVE TO TEN FEET @(1999 NEC 680-6(a)1)

5 to 10 feet if it is of a twist locking device. A straight blade receptacle shall not be less that 10 feet from the inside walls of the pool and all receptacles shall be GFCI protected. The cord from the pump motor shall not exceed 3 feet in length. So if the plug cannot be less that 5 ft from the inside walls of the pool and the cord cannot exceed 3 ft in length I guess the pump motor cannot be less that 2 ft from the pool.
