It has a small 120V twist plug cord pump. Does it have to have a ground rod, no other metal equipment is around that has to be bonded. Grass and sand is all that is around the pool. What should I bond the pump to? The inspector is asking for a earth ground??

the motor is bonded to the metal ring at the bottom of the pool. the only ground required is the egc going back to the house. a ground rod isn't required....so you and the inspector will have to talk about that.

scubad,

What is holding the sides of the pool together, most of the time the structural part is made of metal, this needs bonded to the lug on the motor.

No metal

No metal

I think I am going to have to have a little talk to the inspector. There is no metal holding the pool together, its a new heavy duty plastic. I asked the manufacture if there was any metal that was installed.

Thanks for the tips, I thought it trying to have a earth ground was not neccessery.
