AC and heat sharing the same circuit

Hi, what is the code requirement with regard to having an AC and Heat on the same circuit,is there an interlock required to prevent them from both bring on at the same time?

Are you talking about a window a/c and a baseboard heat? There needs to be some way that both can't come on together unless their load is not an issue

In my opinion either separate branch circuits or a 'one or the other' switching arrangement.
