AC & BX cable sheath as ground

I know that sheathing of old "BX" cable, without the bond strip, is not an acceptable means of equipment ground. Does anyone know of any documentation or code references to support this?

It is not listed in article 250 as a suitable grounding method, therefore it is not allowed to be used.

I think he meant 320.100.
