Hi all,

I've a question about cable sizing for big MW PV Systems.

For example the following PV System.

PV Capacity 940,680 Watt

13 x Huawei SUN2000 KTL 60 KW

2808 x Seraphim 335 Wp Poly

156 Strings

AC Side

All Inverters are connected with an ACDP by NYY Cable 4C x 35mm2 N L1 L2 L3

All inverters are grounded by NYA Cable 1C x 16mm2 from inverter to grounding bus bar in the ACDP

Average distance from Inverter to ACDP 10 Meter

The ACDP is connected with a MDP Distance from ACDP to MDP 60 Meters

How do I size the necessary cables for L1, L2, L3 and Neutral and Grounding for the connection between the ACDP and the MDP?

The AC cables will be in AC Cable ladders inside the building

Surrounding temperature around 30 degrees Celsius

I hope someone can explain this to me.

Thank in advance for your contribution

Kind regards

Help me out with some of your acronyms:
ACDP, NYY, NYA.
Hi Ethan,

Thanks for your replay. ACDP stands for Alternate Current Distribution Panel.
So all inverters come together in the ACDP. From there the ACDP is connected to the MDP (Main Distribution Panel)

NYY, NYA stand for different kind of cable types. For example.

NYY =
  • N, stands for Copper core
  • Y, designates a PVC insulation (inner)
  • Y, identifies a cable with an outer PVC installation

I hope this answers your question.

Kind regards

Ben

Based on the units you are using, it seems this system is not in the USA. Is it being installed under an electrical code based on the NEC?
