In the 2005 handbook, Art.690.4 (B) states that photovoltaic source circuits and photovoltaic output circuits shall not be contained....as feeders or branch circuits of other systems, unless separated by partition or connected together. Does this mean that I could use a section of trough as a raceway that contains both the dc conductors, from an array, and the ac conductors leaving the inverter?

Re: ac/dc conductors related to photovoltaic systems

IMHO, the general idea is protection of the conductors. If the conductors are connected to different voltages... obviously the higher voltage should be observed. If there are fused and unfused... that is a no-no. Hey, other than that, the code starts to get into color coding for different volages and... well you know. May be someone else can add to this or maybe the code has not found a problem to warrant a specific enough of a requirement yet.
