I reading this thread about eye protection, and I remembered a incident that happened to me.

We were pulling wire into in a MDP in a equipment room. I was on a 8' ladder that leaning against the wall and pulling the fishtape with my Lineman's. After I had enough wire to reach the floor, I banged on the EMT with the Lineman's, to let my cub know that I had enough. I set the Lineman's on the top step of the ladder. I then climbed off the ladder to start landing the wires.

All landed and the dead front is behind the ladder. So I moved it. BAM! I saw stars just like on the cartoons! The Lineman's fell off the top of the 8' ladder and hit me square in the nose. Man it hurt!

I regained my sea legs and went to find the cub. "Dude", he said, "What happened to your nose?" I told him, he chuckled and told me that it was "broke". He volunteered to reset it, but I opted to do it myself. So I went to the men's room and put my right thumb against the right side of my nose and PUSHED HARD! Apprentice heard the crunching sound as the nose moved back into place. It hurt like a big dog, and then started to bleed inside. I had a black eye the next day, and there was a flat spot on the bridge of my nose for quite awhile.

Yup, those are things you only do once, set my linesmans on top of a 10 ft ladder. When I went to move fold it up and relocate I saw them coming down in slow motion and landing on my upper lip, didn't hurt because it was numb instantly, but it swelled up like you wouldn't believe and bled like crazy.
