Accessing pole lights in parking structure

We need to do an LED retrofit on 3 25' pole lights. The issue is that we need a boom lift to do so, but they are on the top level of a parking structure that only has a clearance of 6' 5" to get up to the top. The boom lifts at the local rental places all have a 6' 7" clearance height and also may bottom-out when going up the ramp. Anybody do this type of thing normally and ideas on the best way to access?

I would think a boom lift truck is available that can lift the height you need from the ground. Otherwise, you need a helicopter.

We are located in San Francisco. This would require closing down two streets downtown and also one of the poles in the center of the garage so not accessible from below. But thanks for the thought.

I see you're only over-height by 2". Here's a little ditty I remember from childhood:

A truck got stuck under an overpass, and couldn't move in either direction. While the experts were trying to figure out how to get it un-stuck, a little boy said; "Why don't you let some air out of the tires?" :eek:hmy:

With a compressor to re-inflate them after each movement, this might work, especially if the deck clearance includes an allowance. ;)

Scaffolding, a fork lift with man basket, a push around lift, a standard 19' scissor lift will get you to the 25' pole. If you need a larger one you can take the side rails off. A standard all-terrain genie 26' scissor lift has a retracted height of 67". A tow behind lift. A genie TZ-34/20 has platform of 34' and a stowed height of 77".

I've seen older poles with hinges on them. I haven't seen those on any recent installations though.

Dawgs, has the right ideas.

A baby telehandler with a manbasket or pull a small tilt deck trailer with a genie 1930 on it would probably be the one of two directions we'd go. But like dawgs said, lots of options really.

Oh, I thought he meant to stack all these things up to reach it!:)

That would be quite a trick!

Only three units and only 25' doesn't sound like it would require anything more than a good ladder. We have a Little Giant 21' A-Frame that would probably work just fine. Set the ladder, climb up, safety off, use a rope and pulley to the guy on the ground and get out of there before lunch. What am I missing?

Was my first thought but all the lifts we looked at have solid tires.
