My question is I had an Electrician wire my Accessory building / Garage when the inspector came, he failed it due to the Electrician had connected to my back porch light circuit that also feeds three receptacles inside the house. My house is older, and the wiring was installed in the early 50's and my circuits are two wires with no ground. Is there any code reference that would allow me to connect to the two-wire system with no ground.
Findings of Inspector
Based on 2020 NEC
1. The circuit ran to the garage / accessory building is a two-wire circuit and has no ground so you will not have GFCI protection.
2. The garage / accessory building needs 20-amp circuit GFCI protected with no other circuits except those on the outside of the garage.
