Curious how you guys are installing for instance an exit sign in a partial ceiling tile next to wall?

Typically a Caddy bar hanger with an octagon box . The clip on type, or the two piece one and tek screws, flex, or mc, and have also piped in with emt.
And depending upon how small the space was closest to the wall, move it out to next tile, or if there is wall space above the door, and was not roughed in, a cut in box.

I just want to move them out from wall architect does not want to and the exit lights are 2 sided which in itself makes no sense or I would move to the wall which would be my preference of options, however they seem hellbent to build as it was planned. I can scab something together to build their dream but I was hoping someone made something like an adjustable length tgb for this scenario which wouldn't require breaking the tile out to remove it...

There are also side mount options for wall mount.
Sometimes people are not flexible about things, especially when it’s not their idea.
Building code in your area could dictate how it has to be done, as in visibility from different directions.

Yes it's a weird install my opinion, they want it ten inches from wall double sided at the exits to a room the double side is a waste as it will not even be able to be seen from the back side at the exit.... I'm just wanting to find a way to do it in an approved manner I can do strut off wall or equivalent and a box in tile but the tile would not be removable but I suppose they don't care about that ..

Mount the exit sign on the end of a 10" nipple sticking out from a blank cover with a KO on a box in the wall.
