ACS580 using 4-20mA speed reference?

Being forced to abandon the ACS550, due to obsolescence. ABB says the ACS580 is the replacement. ACS550 accepted speed reference of 0-10V OR 4-20mA. The ACS550 dropped support for 4-20mA.

We have a DCS application, so voltage control is not a suitable option. Has anyone made this change? If so, what was your recipe? I'm not asking for theoretical approaches, I'm looking for successful implementations, including circuit details (such as resistor configuration) and parameter settings.

A 500 ohm resistor converts 4-20 ma to 2-10 vdc. Pretty common thing to do. Usually you can scale the input on the drive side to accommodate.

Can't you change the speed reference source to accommodate the mA input? AI1 can be told it's seeing V or mA I'm pretty sure, I know the 880's do. Maybe that will help

Yes, as it turns out, the ACS580 still supports current as speed reference. I don't know why they changed the documentation, as it gives the appearance current speed control was dropped, but it wasn't. It does require the add-on daughter board, but doesn't require changing jumpers.
