Totally new to the forums except to browse info and it was critical in making my plans for the 50A 240V run to my attached garage.
I have everything in back to the main panel now, 50A breaker and outlet in garage, PVC conduit from garage back into the house, 6GA conductors, junction box to 6/3/ NM done w/ split bolts and am now at the main breaker panel. Square D, QO, about 15 yrs old and totally full and w/ too many double breakers.
In addition to getting power to the garage, I wanted to move some of the doubled load circuits so bought a 8 space, 16 circuit box as a sub-panel to be fed by a 100A Breaker. It's only 6" away from the main panel but about 3' of wire to power it.
I've cleared 2 slots for the new 100A feed breaker and run 1" EMT conduit to the new sub-panel. I got my wire @ HD and they only had #2 copper for 100A. That's all good but I cannot find a location on my neutral that will take that gauge wire!

I see some threaded holes in the neutral bus- are there adapters that will take a 2 GA CU wire? Can I run 2, 6 GA wires instead? I have a bit left over and they just fit in the neutral buss bar.

Google searched and didn't come up w/ anything- Help! I want to get my welder running.
