I have a situation where we need to terminate (4) 3/0 cables on an existing 800A molded case breaker. This particular breaker does not support a (4) hole mechanical lug so we're looking for other options besides just replacing the breaker.

Someone had mentioned that there may be adapter kits available that involved a small bus extension down from the breaker to be able to terminate multiple crimp lugs on this new adapter plate/bus?

Any other ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks

sometimes you can get lug adaptors for the breaker that is essentially a piece of bus bar you can hang crimp lugs on. They are made to connect to bus bars but no reason you can't connect them to crimp lugs instead.

You could also use a polaris style connector to bring in four conductors and connect them to a lesser number of larger conductors that connect to the breaker lugs.
