Add CT Metering to Multi Meter Switchgear?

I need to consult the poco on this, but wondering your thoughts or tell me to knock it off.

480 volts, 800 amps comes up from floor into interior wall mounted switchgear. Hits an 800 amp breaker, then bus bars over to a section with a bank of 6 or 9, 200 amp, direct reading meters.

Customer now controls all spaces so individual metering is not needed.

This job is to install a transfer switch that covers the entire building.

Is it possible or usual to install a CT metering setup over existing busbars like this? So we can transfer the whole load?

Every power company I have dealt with has 'special' requirements for CT metering compartments. I would be surprised if you would be able to make one out of existing bussing.

If I understand your plan, you will have a T/S ahead of those "buss bars" so you would not want to have POCO metering on them as you would be metering stand-by (non-POCO) power. If you don't have a CT cabinet or section now, I'd check with POCO and see where they presently have their CTs, might be at the transformer.

The idea is to have the TS somewhere after the 800A breaker and somewhere before where the bussing all divides up to go to the (e) multiple services.

Have the poco meter via CTs off the bussing somewhere after (or before) the 800A breaker but before it takes off to go to the TS.

Right now there are no CTs, every service is 200A or less so they have direct reading meters.

I also have my doubts as to whether this project is workable for a number of reasons. It is certainly possible to do the way I would like, but I can think of a few bureaucratic blockages.
