Adding new CPT in existing MV Switcgear

We have an existing MV switchgear that has one 2000A breakerserving a motor load. We need Auxiliary Power 480V/208, so we needed to add a CPT. Can we cable the CPT to the load side Busses of the 2000A breaker? Can that serve as disconnecting means? Is there a code violation? The CPT will be located next to the switchgear lineup. If no code violation, what is the Max distance of the Tap? Thanks for your inputs.

I never heard of 480/208 before. Please clarify.
Also, It has been of my experience that one would have a CPT truninion in the switchgear with primary fuses and a disconnect. The disconnect must be opened and then the trunnion can be drawn out.
You would apply OCPD(s) on the secondary side of the CPT as would normally be done.

I believe what you are descrbing is this:

If the breaker is open, the power to the HV sie of the CPT will be de-energized. So, if you need the power when the motor is off, then you will be out of luck. The second issue is that you will need to fuse the CPT, as templdl stated. Your set up, as described would be considered non-standard.
