Can you folks advise on the practicality of 1.25" PVC 40 conduit for aluminum 2-2-2-6 XHHW? Fill is 25% so definitely legal but is it practical? Abot 100' run with 4* 90 deg?
Underground feeders for an outdoors subpanel. Thanks.

XHHW insulation has more friction than nylon jacketed THHN. Bring some goop just in case.

But XHHW is the only insulation I spec for underground runs....lasts a lot longer than THWN. You do have to be careful with the fill on the smaller sized conductors as the OD for XHHW is bigger.

If aluminum, often is compact conductor and sort of evens things out to an extent again.

I've found XHHW usually seems to pull easier if it is cold outside.

Having it laying in the sun before pulling on a hot day seems to pull the hardest.

Haven't really proven this in any way, but seems to be the way it is, when comparing similar pulling jobs but in different temp conditions.

I totally agree. It gets really rubbery in the sun. Lol.
