I have seen bedroom walls that adjoin bathroom walls, specificaly the tub long wall, and have receptacles and wiring in this wall on the bedroom side. Is this code? It is not in the bathroom.......Is there any code restriction to adjoining walls such as this having electrical equipment-wiring, receptacles, load centers, etc....or is this considered to be in the other adjoining room because the drywall on the bathroom side defines the space? Something I have wondered about ever since working in this type of apartment years ago and ripping out a tile wall and plaster lath and surprised to find wiring behind it.

I think that you've answered your own question. Something inside of the wall or on the opposite side of the bathroom wall is not in the bathroom and is not prohibited.
