Is a Variable Frequency Drive the same thing as an Adjustable Speed Drive? I am talking AC motors. We have a couple conveyors at work that are DC and the speed is adjustable. We also have some AC mtr driven roller-beds that we can adjust the speed on - They are controlled by VFD,s. Any information or explanation would be appreciated. I do not see the words Variable Frequency Drive in the NEC.
