I have read the post of mike holt regarding the astray voltage.Aside from electronics equiptment(shield cable/etc. grounding) I do believe some astray voltage come from unbalance current flowing from neutral to earth due to unbalance load in wye/delta transformer.
My question is what will be the effect of unbalance current between phases in wye/delta transformer with neutral bonded to earth in trnaformer operation?Do you believe that this current contribute the astray voltage if there is no effective grounding?
Second , what is the advantage of wye over delta transformer connection(except for voltage-can be lower/increase).If there is a large unbalance current, what effect this might contribute in transformer operation. How about if there is a fault (phase to ground)?
Any comment will be highly appreciated for the sake of the forum only...thanks in advance.
