what is th best way to hook up with new GCS?

I am a 1 man shop and the 3 GCs I work for right know are all slow. I am not sure If I should cold call some of the small GCs or send a letter of introduction and then call.
the GCs I work for now I found them thru word of mouth. My phone has not been ringing much
Thank you .

I envy you for getting along with 3 GCs at the same time. You don't give much information so I assume the market/niche you're in is slow. Try a different market/niche.

I am in the Denver are. things have slowed a little bit but prices are crazy here so many low ball estimates.
I have a great working realtionship with my 3 gcs. they are very small 1-2 man shops. I had so much work last year at this time I could not keep up and had to turn a few jobs away and now this year I am slow.

what do you feel about cold calling GCs to introduce my self and see if I could get on there list of Sub contractors

My brother and I own a small GC firm and whenever I get cold calls like that, I'm usually trying to figure out the fastest way to get them off the phone. We've hired two subs like that, and they performed terribly. We've hired a coulpe that showed up on a jobsite and met face-to-face. That worked out okay, but usually the people we use were referred by other GC's as being good subs.

In my EC business, referrals have been what gets most of my business. I've also gotten other subs I work w/ to introduce me to the GC's they most like working for (and the ones that pay on-time). That's worked a couple of times.

I think Sparky555 had some good advice though.
