In theory it should.

Maybe...but not because of the AFCI part of the breaker. Sometimes when a lamp burns out a piece of the filiment causes a short with in the light bulb. In some cases this short circuit current is high enough to trip a breaker. The AFCI is also a standard thermo-magnetic breaker, so it may trip when the lamp burns out.Will a light bulb burning out cause an AFCI to trip ??
