AFCI and GFCI sharing circuit

Hello ¿Does NEC allows AFCI and GFCI outlets to share same circuit? I read from and electrical device manufacturer that yes, but i am not sure it´s right.
 
Can't vouch for Panama, but it is allowed in the US either in parallel or in series. In fact, there are enough places in the code now where both are required that dual-function devices are available.
