I'm told that there are manufacturer's that make 20A-1P combination AFCI and GFCI circuit breakers. Are they required anywhere? Any thoughts on where they'd be a good idea?

Might the manufacturer's of these things know something about the next version of the code?

All I can offer is that, at present, (1) AFCI is required only for circuits that feed bedroom outlets, and (2) Nothing in a bedroom is required to be GFCI. I can't think of a good use for them.

If I used such an AFCI / GFCI I could tag the back yard receptacle off the bedroom circuit and not install a GFCI at that exterior receptacle.

If I were to build a bedroom with a basin in a counter, I could use regular receptacles within six feet. . .

'Holiday' receptacles that are under windows in the bedrooms and garage that are switched together is one application.

There was a recent thread where someone was asking if anyone made this breaker, but I don't remember their application.
