Re: AFCI BREAKER

There are natural series arcs such as motor brushes, sw, light bulb burnout, removing lamp plug with load on. Is the technology available. During the IAEI Diamond Jubilee September 2003 Jim Pauley waved high in the air saying "We Have One" combination. Well, Where is the Beef. 1 1/2 years later Not evan a catlog number. Must be having problems. Shame on NFPA for adding to code and not being available should delete 3rd para. of 90.4. Great sales pitch Make the product and sell it or Sell the product then make it. Seems to me someone sold the product to NFPA and now trying to make it.

Re: AFCI BREAKER

I have to agree, until the bugs are worked out of AFCIs, they should have never been part of the NEC.

Perhaps the people who got this introduced and passed received some very nice kick backs! I wouldn't be shocked to find out, there are a lot of crooked people in this world.

I have to take exception to that statement.

I know a lot of people that are on the CMPs and I have yet to see or hear about any of that type of activity. I have had head to head arguments with panel members that I didn't agree with but I assure you that I respect them. They are defending their positions the same as I defend mine.

Reasonable people look at what information they have been given and make decisions based on that information. The AFCIs were as you have them now and the other types were also discussed. I believe there are five different types of AFCIs. I am not interested in pointing fingers but we were led to believe that the AFCIs of today were going to do the job of the promised AFCIs of January 1, 2008.

I absolutely do not believe anyone is getting kickbacks.
