I have a customer that has built a free standing Mueller Steel Carport, an has enclosed one end in with Wood framing. This area will have a Shower , toilet, sink, in a bathroom. The other room will be used for a Work out room.
My question is do the 120v branch circuits require AFCI for all branch circuits. I know the bath will require GFCI. Was just not sure if this would require AFCI as well . I will be under the 2011 Code. Would this be considered a Dwelling.

Thanks

Not a dwelling unit.

Here is the definition of dwelling unit from Article 100

Dwelling Unit. A single unit, providing complete and independent
living facilities for one or more persons, including
permanent provisions for living, sleeping, cooking, and
sanitation.
