I think this would be OK but thought it would be a good idea to ask. Is it permissable to leave a AFCI protected bedroom and feed a GFCI protected outdoor recep?

Permissible? Yes. Why did you want to do it, though? Just looking for the closest point to feed the outdoor receptacle?

Just keep in mind that you just confused a home owner to the limit now.He now will not know if he tripped cause of the afci or the gfci.Your asking for a service call with this. Now if your in a jam because it got left out and the bedroom is an easu back to back fix then fine but its poor planning

I would guess that if the gfci tripped the afci breaker would still be fine or vice versa. I don't see the big deal doing this. (Maybe because I did this very thing today)

Ok but plan on getting calls about why there outside receptacle stoped working and they reset the button.Your also adding one more thing that might cause an arc.But legally your fine and you saved some time and wire.Would i do this ,NO.I want a trouble free home and happy customer.

Actually the homeowner would have called you back, but his phone system's electrical xfmr was plugged into one of those bedroom outlets which also was tripped. this lead him to the conclusion that it was a breaker, which he reset, and then feeling much better, he went out and continued his weedwhacking. I do the bedroom circuit feed to an exterior outlet thing all the time. Never had any such problem, or call back, at least not yet... I wonder what the mean time to failure is for an avarage afci breaker. Guess we will find out in a few years time. Then we may start getting calls.
