AFCI/GFCI breaker

A CH combo breaker to the washing machine. And one to the utility is tripped. The one to the washimg machine is showing a code that it is a self test failure and needs to be replaced. The one for the utility is not showing a light code. But they are both tripping at the same time according to the customer.

Is one ahead of the other on the same circuit? That could set up a race as to which one trips first and may end up being a tie.

Ah yes, you did say breaker.
Do you mean dual function breaker? Both AFCI and GFCI?
Combo is AFCI, series and parallel arc detection.

I know AFCI breakers can trip multiples in case of an arc fault. But the one that is showing a code is saying that it is a self test failure.

If it is a self test failure it's defective. As for the other one, replace it also while you are at it.
