I have a couple of questions
Does my microwave outlet above in the cabinet need to be gfci protected in any circumstance.
Does the Romex hard wired to a dishwasher need to be protected with greenfield.
Can I cord to the dishwasher and route it under the sink and plug into a gfci outlet.
Can my Romex or greenfield coming from the dishwasher be hard wired into a dead front gfci.
Why can cords from the dishwasher and garbage disposal be installed under the sink but Romex needs protection.

Only if within 6 feet of the kitchen sink.

Is it under the dishwasher? If so, no. In the sink base cabinet? That's a grey area. Some areas require it, others don't. In my area it's not typical to sleeve it, but that is changing.

Yes on the cord, however the GFCI outlet under the sink is generally not considered to be a code compliant solution.

Sure.

Why can cords from the dishwasher and garbage disposal be installed under the sink but Romex needs protection.

Because that's what the code says. :p I don't get all that concerned about exposed romex under a sink, but some people think it's the end of the world.

6 foot rule

6 foot rule

In regards to your response to my question about the microwave outlet in the above cabinet needing to be gfci protected. I was reading the code and it says the six foot rule only applies to sinks other than kitchen sinks. Is that right?

Also are you saying that a gfci outlet cannot be mounted under the sink and the dishwasher cannot be plugged into it. But how about the hard wired dead front plug under the sink for the dishwasher , which is not code complaint and why? Thank you for your advice

The question, for both, is whether under the sink, behind a door, and behind the stack of plastic bags and cleaning supplies is readily accessible.

Well is a gfci outlet under the sink considered readily accessible?
And will someone respond to the above question about how the six foot from a kitchen sink needs to be gfci. I don't think the six foot rule is for kitchen sinks.

I see your from Ma so you are under the 2014. I think if it is 6' from any sink it must be gfci. It also needs afci in Kitchens

(6) Kitchens — where the receptacles are installed to
serve the countertop surfaces
(7) Sinks — where receptacles are installed within 1.8 m
(6 ft) of the outside edge of the sink

There has been arguments pro and con gfci being accessible under a sink. IMO, if you put the gfci up high toward the cabinet door then it is readily accessible.
